Description
The new Broadway cast recording of "The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess" from director Diane Paulus, musical book adapter Suzan-Lori Parks and musical score adapter Diedre L. Murray. This is a new theatrical adaptation of the classic opera "Porgy and Bess", which was originally produced in 1935 with music by George Gershwin, libretto by DuBose Heyward, and lyrics by DuBose Heyward and Ira Gershwin. The original opera was based on DuBose Heyward's novel "Porgy" and subsequent play of the same title, which he co-wrote with his wife Dorothy Heyward.
