Clinicia de migrantes: Filmmaker Maxim Pozdorovkin (HBO's Pussy Riot: A Punk Prayer) shines a well-deserved light on Puentes de Salud, a health-care clinic serving a population that all-too-easily slips through the cracks: undocumented immigrants. Clínica de Migrantes counters the often dehumanizing and highly politicized rhetoric surrounding America's immigrant population, providing a compassionate profile of patients at Puentes, many of whom have left their families behind to come to America and perform physically exhausting labor for meager wages. Poverty-stricken and without medical insurance, the patients at Puentes often have nowhere else to turn for medical care. In addition to the patients, the film follows the tireless clinic staffers who treat around ten thousand patients each year with limited space and even less funding. As it plans a larger facility to accommodate its rapidly increasing demand, Puentes' executive director Dr. Steve Larson and his team must find a way to keep their practice running in spite of obstacles at every turn. Highlighting the admirable doctors, their patients and the bonds built between them, this inspirational, thought-provoking film forces us to consider whether America can continue to keep basic necessities from the estimated eleven million undocumented immigrants living within its borders.--Container.

Ruben Salazar: Man in the middle: Examines the life and mysterious death of pioneering journalist Ruben Salazar. At the heart of the story is Salazar's transformation from a mainstream, middle-of-the-road reporter to a supporter and primary chronicler of the radical Chicano movement of the late 1960s. Killed under mysterious circumstances by a law enforcement officer in 1970, Salazar became an instant martyr to the Latino community, which had often criticized his reporting during his lifetime. Includes interviews with Salazar's friends, colleagues, family members, and Salazar's own words culled from personal writings.

A Mexican-American butcher's son from Texas, Willie Velasquez questioned the lack of Latino representation in his city's government, propelling him into a lifelong battle to gain political equality for Latinos. This documentary examines obstacles Latinos had to overcome to obtain representation, and addresses issues facing Latinos today.

Dolores: Dolores Huerta is among the most important, yet least known, activists in American history. An equal partner in co-founding the first farm workers unions with Cesar Chavez, her enormous contributions have gone largely unrecognized. Dolores tirelessly led the fight for racial and labor justice, becoming one of the most defiant feminists of the twentieth century--and she continues to fight to this day, at 87.

Who is Dayani Cristal?: Tells the story of a migrant who found himself in the deadly stretch of the Sonora Desert known as "the corridor of death," and shows how one life becomes testimony to the tragic results of the U.S. war on immigration. As the real-life drama unfolds we see this John Doe, unidentifiable at his point of death, become a living and breathing human being with an important life story. Eventually, the authorities are able to identify the man as a 29 year-old Honduran, Dilcy Yohan Sandres-Martinez, who had a tattoo of his daughter's name on his chest. Gael García Bernal and Marc Silver then recreate the dangerous journey that Sandres-Martinez took in his attempt to enter the United States.
